The Kids Research Institute | Developing a user-centred application to support health and wellbeing in early years

Objective

The Kids Research Institute sought assistance to build a cloud-native Pathway Tool application, to provide parents with accessible and targeted support during their child's early years. A central focus of the project was ensuring a seamless and reassuring user experience for parents.

Approach

Rmkble's development team built the Pathway Tool using Payload CMS and NextJS, providing a flexible, modern architecture. The project was delivered iteratively, with early demonstrations to key stakeholders. Consumer workshops with parents were used to co-create the user story map, ensuring their insights directly guided development and kept the user experience central throughout the process.

Outcome

The combination of adaptable technology and participatory design ensured the final product remained both user centred and sustainable over time. User acceptance testing feedback showed parents felt heard and valued throughout the process and responded positively to the app's design and usability.
